Umpqua Bank Home Lending Construction Servicing Manager in Tigard, Oregon


Responsible for managing the Custom Construction Servicing Department; including fund control, loan disbursements, project & builder acceptance, general loan servicing and construction portfolio management. Manages these teams while ensuring process and bank regulatory guidelines are met. Actively interacts with Home Lending leadership to ensure portfolio risk is monitored and mitigated.


  • Responsible for management of the custom construction disbursement, construction cash teams, project and builder acceptance teams along with the management of Hazard Insurance Claims processing. Oversees the management of the team ensuring construction draw turn times are at acceptable levels while managing quality.

  • Responsible for the management of custom construction loan servicing Customer Service experience, including inquiries and responses from internal and external customers to ensure world class customer experiences are delivered.

  • Responsible for overall management of investor and bank guidelines and insures guidelines are met.

  • Analyzes disbursement, project and builder acceptance and cash processing pipelines to ensure staffing levels are maintained to balance workloads, and that excellent customer service levels are maintained within budget requirements.

  • Develops reporting structure to monitor pipeline volumes, turn times and quality.

  • Coordinates and partners with other Mortgage Loan Servicing Teams , construction underwriting and processing to ensure a seamless customer experience by removing roadblocks within the process. Interface with Legal department as needed to resolve builder / borrower disputes while protecting the bank’s interests.

  • Responsible for the Mortgage portfolio lien notices to ensure first lien positions are maintained on all mortgage loans.

  • May provide training to others.

  • May be required to represent the company in the community.

Keeps up to date on regulation changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual required or job-specific training.   • Requires a bachelor's degree in business, a related field, or equivalent.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Home Lending, construction disbursement, construction lending, and/or other equivalent work experience.

  • 3 -5 years prior managementexperience.

  • Extremely strong relationship management and operational abilities, analytical and problem solving skills, and project management skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of products and services in Home Lending and construction lending.

  • Proven track record of success and skills in Home Lending and construction disbursement.

  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, practices and documentation in Home Lending.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships.

  • Requires significant experience in Home Lending and a demonstrated ability to manage projects within time and budget constraints.

  • If required to manage team, prior management experience managing an operational team, hiring, and conducting performance evaluations.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead/influence others to achieve goals.

  • In-depth knowledge of "best practices" in industry.

  • Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel, and other business machines.

  • Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.
